Quality Initiative


The Quality Initiative Coordinator assists licensed child care providers who have a star rating of 1, 2, or 3 in achieving higher star ratings.  This will be achieved by providing technical assistance, trainings, workshops, environment assessment scores, and assistance in completing the DCD application.  Food and materials my be provided during training or workshops.


                  Component 1

       Quality Improvement Grant

The partnership will purchase all furniture, supplies and/or materials for the provider, as funds permit.


                        Component 2

         Technical Assistance/Consultations

The Quality Initiative Coordinator will contact each child care provider to discuss their interest in applying for a higher star rating.  These services will be provided annually.  All program participants must meet and follow the applicable Chowan/Perquimans Partnership for Children and NCPC policies, procedures and guidelines.


                             Component 3

                  Professional Development

Individuals within the center who attend a minimum of two college credit courses, and recieve a grade "C" or better will be eligible to recieve a $200 cash bonus.  Documentation, or proof of course and grade, must be submitted to the Partnership prior to June 1, 2010, in order to receive the $200 professional development award.  All documentation must be submitted or final payments will not be issued.
